At Kindred Montessori Academy, our mission is simple and deeply human: to ensure every child is known, valued, and supported during their most foundational years of life.
We believe children learn best through meaningful work, real-life experiences, and environments that honor their natural curiosity. Rooted in Montessori philosophy and guided by community values, Kindred exists to make calm, purposeful, high-quality early education accessible to families who might otherwise be excluded.
We are a nonprofit because education should be a shared good — not a privilege reserved for a few.
In our neighborhood, families are working hard, loving their children deeply, and still facing barriers to early education that truly honors childhood. Long waitlists, rising costs, and one-size-fits-all models often leave families choosing between availability and alignment.
Kindred was created to offer another way.
A place where:
Children are trusted with real tools and real purpose
Independence is nurtured gently, not rushed
Families are welcomed as partners
Learning happens through hands, movement, and discovery
Community comes before comparison
Our nonprofit model allows us to reinvest every resource back into children, families, and the environments that support them.
Every child who enters Kindred is met with respect.
Every family is welcomed with warmth.
Every day is shaped by intention.
Your support directly impacts:
A child learning to pour water independently
A family finding community
An educator staying rooted in meaningful work
A classroom filled with calm, joyful learning
Small beginnings truly do shape big futures.
We are committed to expanding access to authentic Montessori education by offering tuition support, scholarships, and sliding-scale options whenever possible.
Our goal is to remove financial barriers so families can choose an education aligned with their values — without sacrificing stability or dignity.
Montessori environments are carefully prepared to meet children exactly where they are.
At Kindred, this means:
Beautiful, calm spaces filled with natural light
Real-life materials made of wood, glass, and metal
Child-sized tools that invite independence
Environments designed for focus, movement, and joy
Every contribution helps us maintain and grow spaces where children feel capable, peaceful, and at home.
Children thrive when families feel supported.
As a nonprofit, we prioritize:
Family education and Montessori orientation
Community gatherings and shared celebrations
Open communication and relationship-based care
Partnerships with local organizations and neighbors
We are building more than a school — we are growing a learning community rooted in trust and belonging.
Great environments require grounded, supported adults.
We invest in:
Fair compensation for Montessori-trained guides
Ongoing professional development
Sustainable staffing models that prevent burnout
Time for observation, reflection, and care
When educators are supported, children feel it.
There are many ways to be part of Kindred’s story:

Seeking People to Join our Board of Directors
Kindred Montessori Academy is guided by a developing Board of Directors that supports the school’s mission, long-term sustainability, and commitment to high-quality Montessori education. As a growing microschool, Kindred is in the process of building a strategic and diverse board whose members will provide governance, financial oversight, and long-range planning support.
During this development phase, board leadership focuses on establishing strong governance foundations, including clear roles, ethical financial oversight, and alignment with the school’s mission and values. As additional members are recruited, the Board will increasingly support strategic planning, policy development, and organizational sustainability while maintaining appropriate separation from daily operations.
Kindred Montessori Academy is actively seeking committed community members to join our developing Board of Directors. Board members play a vital role in supporting the school’s mission, strengthening long-term sustainability, and ensuring responsible governance as the school grows. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in education, finance, nonprofit leadership, law, facilities, fundraising, or community advocacy who are passionate about expanding access to high-quality Montessori education.
In addition to governance and strategic oversight, board members support the school by assisting with fundraising efforts and community relationship building, including helping cultivate partnerships, serving as ambassadors for the school, and supporting development initiatives aligned with Kindred’s mission and values. Board service is a volunteer role focused on leadership and sustainability rather than daily operations, and members collaborate with school leadership to advance long-term goals.
As a member of a growing board, individuals have a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of the school, contribute professional expertise, and strengthen community connections that support student success. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact us to learn more about board roles, expectations, and how they can support Kindred Montessori Academy.
